The construction of a motorcycle
After your first ride on a motorcycle, you can’t help but wonder about the process behind its creation. What are the basic components that make up a bike?If you were to try and define what constructing a motorcycle involves, you’d have to cover the engineering steps through to the manufacturing process, as well as the assembly of components and systems for a motorcycle which results in the performance, cost, and aesthetics that the designer is looking for. While there are some differences depending on the make, the construction of modern mass-produced motorcycles has a steel or aluminum frame, disc brakes, and telescopic forks holding the front wheel. The designer may add performance based equipment depending on the purpose of the bike.A petrol powered engine, which can have anything from one to four cylinders, sometimes eight, are coupled to a manual five, maybe six, speed sequential transmission which drives the rear wheel by a chain, driveshaft or belt. When all of these utilities are combined, you’re provided with a beautiful machine that will give you the ride of your life.
